Almostly Murder ... With Pets
Published in Paperback by Padlock Mystery Pr (30 November, 2002)
Authors: The Cozy Crime Writers, M. E. Cooper, Audrey Eggers, Deborah Bouziden, Sharon K. Hudgins, Sara Sue Hoklotubbe, Rey Hanan, Moira K. Wiley, Marion Moore Hill, and Judith Sexton
Average review score:

Very Clever!!
This anthology by a group of Oklahoma mystery writers cleverly uses animals to help solve the various crimes. For example, Moira K. Wiley's story, "Old Mack Donald's Ghost", features an emu. One cautionary note--husbands and boyfriends don't fare too well in some of these tales so all of you men be sure to check your egos at the door!!

Amber Moment
Published in Paperback by Xlibris Corporation (October, 1998)
Author: Marion Marshall
Average review score:

An Excellent Story!
AMBER MOMENT is a well-plotted and seamless story, never failing to hold my interest. Each scene led into the next in a logical progression, nothing was out of place. Nothing, not even a single word, was superfluous. And though at first the plot seemed predicable, there were turns that took me completely by surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Be warned, though, it has steamy sex scenes, which, mercifully, didn't dominate the story. The characters were realistic and intelligent. It makes me want to read more by this author.

The Best of Everything: The Insider's Guide to Collecting--For Every Taste and Every Budget
Published in Hardcover by Simon & Schuster (November, 1989)
Authors: John Marion, Christopher Anderson, and Christopher P. Andersen
Average review score:

Buying antiques at auctions revealed in everyday language
John Marion has written a very readable account of how to buy affordable antiques at Sotheby's Auction House in new York. He takes you through the process of registering and bidding in a common sense way that takes the mystery out of the process. In addition, he makes a compelling argument that many of the objects you buy at a department store might better be purchased at a reputable auction house as investments which you can enjoy for years to come. The Best of Everything is a tresure in itself.

The Best of Marion Zimmer Bradley's Fantasy Magazine
Published in Paperback by Warner Books (November, 1995)
Authors: Marion Zimmer Bradley and Elisabeth Waters
Average review score:

An eclectic mix!
I read Anthologies. I read them alot, and one thing I've noticed is that there is usually at least one story that just isn't worth the trouble of reading it. This is one book where this was not a problem.

Since this book is a collection of stories from a magazine there are many types of subjects with only the magazine as a common thread among the seperate stories. This is a departure from current anthologies and actually kept me interested throughout the book.

Great for subway rides!

Black Social Capital: The Politics of School Reform in Baltimore, 1986-1998 (Studies in Government and Public Policy)
Published in Paperback by Univ Pr of Kansas (October, 1999)
Author: Marion Orr
Average review score:

Forget Putnam, Read Orr!
Just when I got depressed about the direction of the social capital debate, this bookcame out. Orr, gets it right. Social capital explains a lot about how local politics unfold, but there are also other things going on, and social capital can applied in an intagroup or intergroup context. The social capital book to read this year. Forget Putnam, Read Orr!

The Blood Group Antigen Facts Book
Published in Paperback by Academic Press (15 January, 1997)

Average review score:

Blood group antigens
Excellent, practical and easy to read. Blood group antigens have been a confusing topic and few people can present it as well as Dr. Reid.

The book is well organized, gives you all the important facts and the clinical significance of each antigen. Truely a superb gathering of very practical facts. I strongly recommend it to clinicians, residents and medical students. This book has the facts you need for making decisions .
